Copying and Copyright

I don’t like peoples’ work being ripped off, and I especially don’t like lack of  attribution. I therefore try hard to practice what I preach. Unless otherwise indicated, all images, videos, code, music and text on this site are my own work. They are all © Mark Crawford in the year of their publication to the site. There are some exceptions:

• WP themes are sourced from Elegant Themes and subsequently edited
• On my meteorite pages, country flags are taken from BizForms
• Base map images are taken from Google Maps and edited
• Dates, weights and other meteorite information is usually taken from MetBase, unless superseded
• I may use material which is clearly in the public domain (eg company press release/product brochures) – their source will be obvious in the body text
• I may use material from 3rd parties after seeking permission
• I may quote short passages of text under ‘fair use’
• I make extensive use of WikiCommons, and attribute sources where I use them

On my side: unless otherwise stated, I’m generally fine with people making use of any material hosted here. All of my own images, videos, music and text may be used under the Creative Commons attribution non-commercial license. A few exceptions and clarifications:

• Absolutely no commercial use may be made of my work without permission
• All use of my material must be attributed with a link back to velikimacak.com
• No bandwidth leeching! (That means if you’re using it, host it on your own server!)
• I’m particularly happy for use to be made of my astronomy and meteorite photos
• Unfortunately, my images from the NHM London may not be reproduced without prior permission. This was the basis of my agreement with the NHM. This material therefore is not licensed for reuse
• Photographs and videos of other people may not be used. Although it may be my photo or video, I don’t seek release forms, and I can’t give permission vicariously. This particularly applies to photos and videos of artists and musicians. This material therefore is not licensed for reuse
